Stories of Rescue

On the Museum's First Floor

This exhibition supports the School District of Palm Beach County’s Holocaust education aims while serving as a resource for the wider community, offering historical context, personal testimony, and interactive materials that encourage empathy and critical thinking.

Narrative panel text and imagery explain the political and social conditions that made the Holocaust possible, and the wide range of individuals and groups who were impacted.

The exhibition features an oral history with Eliane Strosberg, a Palm Beach County resident whose parents rescued 239 Jewish children in war-torn France by smuggling them to safety in Switzerland. Her story and the documentation of her family’s actions provide undeniable evidence of the Holocaust and a local connection to a global event.

View the following documents and oral history with Eliane to gain deeper insight into her family’s courageous actions.
