🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Suzanne Busch 🌟
HSPBC Docent since 2019

Meet Suzanne, a former research librarian who spent more than 30 years in Palm Beach County before realizing she had never truly explored the history of the place she called home. When she wandered into a docent training session just to see what they were doing, she instantly fell in love with the museum, its mission, and the joy of meeting people who love history as much as she does.

Originally from New York and raised in a Navy family, Suzanne lived in many places before earning her master’s degree in Library Science in Texas. She worked as a librarian here in Palm Beach County, and in retirement she gives her time to multiple nonprofits. When she is not leading tours, you will often find her helping in the Museum Store or sharing stories through our Speakers Bureau.

Her favorite part of volunteering:
"Meeting people and talking with them about the history of this area, and the history they bring with them. It is so important not to lose those stories. If you love learning new things and sharing them with others in a fun and welcoming way, this is the place to be."

Suzanne treasures moments like heartfelt hugs from children and conversations with visitors from around the world. Her enthusiasm reflects everything we strive for: gathering, preserving, and sharing the rich history of Palm Beach County.

🎥 Hear the History of Florida, Brought to Life on Screen!

Join us for our next History Talks as we welcome the extraordinary Frank Eberling on Wednesday, December 3 at 5:30pm.

For more than 125 years, Florida’s landscapes, legends, and larger-than-life characters have inspired authors and filmmakers. In the early 1900s, the Sunshine State was a bustling filmmaking capital, producing hundreds of silent films.

No one knows that story better than Frank Eberling.
With more than 3,500 film and television programs to his name, Frank has worked as a writer, producer, director, and cinematographer. He has taught college for twenty-six years, spent ten years teaching with Burt Reynolds at the Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre, and earned top honors including a CINE/Golden Eagle, an EMMY®, and the first Florida Governor’s Screenwriting Competition.

✨ If you love film, Florida history, or simply a great story told by a master, this is the talk for you.
