History Talks: Michael McKeich on “The History of the Oakley Theatre”

Hear The History of Florida!

This History Talk takes you back a full century to 1924, when the Oakley brothers had a dream to open a movie theatre in the young town of Lake Worth, Florida. The talk takes you through the Oakleys’ loss of their business and the four incarnations of the Oakley Theatre building in its lifespan. Today it is the oldest working theatre in Palm Beach County, and home to the Lake Worth Playhouse, a community theatre. Michael McKeich has volunteered his time and talents for many years at both the Johnson History Museum and the Lake Worth Playhouse.
