Visual & Natural
Celebrating Hispanic Heritage
September 18, 2024 - October 15, 2024

Richard & Pat Johnson Palm Beach County History Museum
1916 historic courtroom - third floor

Through the eyes of four Hispanic American female artists, Visual & Natural focuses on the influence of Hispanic heritage on Palm Beach County. Although Hispanic and Latinx communities are related, there is diversity within their shared community. This exhibit seeks to generate visibility and awareness of this diversity within the community and to dismantle stereotypes about Latin American art. Curated by Gaby Viteri, founder of First Female, Visual & Natural will include the work of Paloma Eden, Andrea Facusse, Maria Magdalena Marcenaro, and Caromoonstar. (SEE related EVENT.)

The Johnson History Museum will also host workshops led by these artists, in aspects of their work. Visit firstfemalepb.com to learn more and register.

The Artists

Paloma Eden’s journey encompasses painting, calligraphy, and flamenco dance, inspired by her Puerto Rican heritage, that explores deep and raw emotions.

Andrea Facusse is a Honduran and 14-year Florida resident whose artwork commemorates her life journey. She also helps open dialogue to pressing issues facing our world today.

Maria Magdalena Marcenaro is an Argentine visual artist whose work celebrates color, nature, and humanity as she explores magical realism, Latin American folk arts, and literature to inspire emotional connectivity.

Caromoonstar uses cosmic and universal language to explain connections with bright colors and organic figures that reflect her upbringing in Venezuela, Chile, and Florida.
