The property just south of Palm Beach Country Club, first known as the subdivision Indian Mound Tract, has been associated with several founding pioneers. Melville Spencer, Charles Moore, and Henry Phipps purchased and sold lots starting in the 1880s. Nothing was ever built on this lot until it was purchased by the Robert Gottfried Incorporation in 1961 and replotted as Polmer Park. 

Robert W. Gottfried, a home builder, developer, and real estate entrepreneur became famous in Palm Beach for his French Regency-style architectural builds. Gottfried was born on May 15, 1926, in Queens, New York. He made his way to Palm Beach in 1954, where he opened a design center, marble factory, mirror factory, and molding company in West Palm Beach. In the 1960s, Gottfried began purchasing land to develop his signature building style, known today as Palm Beach Gottfried Regency-style architecture. The subdivision of Polmer Park, including 301, is a signature Gottfried French Regency style. 

The property at 301 Polmer Park is a prime example of his work, showcasing the elegance and innovation that defined his approach. Throughout his career, Gottfried left a lasting impact on Palm Beach, constructing over 500 homes in his distinctive style.
