Archival Internship Program

The Historical Society of Palm Beach County provides future archivists and museum professionals with the opportunity to gain firsthand experience working with collections and exhibitions. The Society is looking for graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in degree-seeking programs in Public History, Library and Information Science, Museum Studies, Anthropology, or Historic Preservation to participate in our internship program.

Interns will gain practical experience in archival preservation and develop hands-on skills in handling, storing, and maintaining historical materials. The program offers opportunities to learn archival cataloging and metadata standards, along with techniques in digital archiving and digital collections management.

Internships are available year-round, with opportunities offered during the spring, summer, and fall semesters. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until positions are filled, so early submission is encouraged.

Prospective interns should submit an application and resume for internships by:

  • Fall term: second week of August
  • Spring term: second week of December
  • Summer term: second week of May
